Every milestone has shaped the architect I became, the principles I uphold, and the experiences I now share with others.

For nearly five decades, architecture has been both my profession and my lifelong passion. Since establishing R.G. Chan & Associates in Baguio City in 1982, I have had the privilege of helping shape commercial, institutional, residential, and planning projects across the Philippines.
My professional journey has taken me through the remarkable evolution of architectural practice—from hand-drafted drawings and blueprint machines to Computer-Aided Design, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and today's rapidly advancing world of Artificial Intelligence.
Along the way, I have learned that good architecture is never only about buildings. It is about people, thoughtful planning, clear communication, and creating places that continue to serve generations long after construction is complete.
This page is a personal account of that journey—its milestones, challenges, transitions, and the experiences that shaped both my career and my outlook on life.
Every architect designs buildings. A fortunate few also have the opportunity to design a life shaped by curiosity, resilience, and continuous learning. This is one such journey.
